I really am not being optimistic about the forecast weather, Heavy snow all day Friday and on Saturday. Malmesbury and Tog always get shed loads if that happens.

Hopefully not too much for the ride.

Might have to put the knobbly tyres on!

"Usual start time and place if the threatened snow does come we will have a back up ready.

That's if the village hall is not booked lol! " lol!

If you click on the Map my Ride link it should show them in the elevation profile but I think one is Horton and the other is the climb into Colerne if you want to go down and back up Bannerdown you could make it three.

I didn't think that Horton would have been enough to be a Cat Climb.

Having just checked out Bristol on Strava I am surprised that there aren't really any Cat 1 or 2's around - I will have to head over to Wales and look for one.

You could always do the 4 and 5 climbs quicker or in a bigger gear.

True, but doing a Cat 5 like Horton in a bigger gear is nothing like doing Cat 3 Lansdown in Bath.

Anyway, I fear we are going somewhat off topic here!

I'm happy to meet for a coffee at Costa although I shall be riding my mountain bike. Am I allowed to say that on a road route post?

Mark, I'll keep you company on the mountain bike.

Went out for a ride on it yesterday, think it's the most appropriate vehicle for the terrain (better grip than my shoes).

Looks like I may have to dig my mountain bike out of the garage, remove the 29er slicks and fit some knobblies to have any chance of getting as far as Costa.

I'm gutted as I've just fitted the replacement ritchey wheels and new saddle and was hoping to get out! I'm sure I'll have a bit of fun on the other bike though tomorrow!

Well it's no surprise but we have called the ride off for tomorrow.

However, a few of us are going to meet at Costa from 9.30am to have a coffee and a chat. I shall attempt to get there on my mountain bike so i shall need a little warming when I get there!
