Next Sunday being the first Sunday of the month it's our pilgrimage to see our wonderful ladies and eat cake.
Hopefully two routes if I can twist either Dave scaramanger or Garys arm to lead a slightly longer faster route whilst i take the slow steady route.
Come one come all................. cheers

If you look in the sunday rides thread and go to return of the Pavlova then Daves original alternative is there i think.

I've found the route Dave posted on Strava, but can't tell if it's possible to download it as I can't see any "export" buttons.

PostSubject: 2nd June - Extended Cake Route   Tue May 28, 2013 8:21 pm

@James- thanks for putting Dave's original long route on RWGPS. After leaving Hill Dave's route goes a different way to Scott's route so I've altered it so that we all follow the same route back to Costa.

I've also taken the liberty of changing Dave's route after reaching Lower Stone, taking the route north to Ham before turning west and then heading south to Hill. The difference between the two routes is 8 miles more on the extended route so this means that those taking the extended route will arrive at Hill about half an hour after those that take the gentle route (provided everyone leaves Costa at the same time).

Revised extended route

Both rides start from Costa / SubWay by the Tesco Extra in Bradley Stoke, start time for both is 10 am though if you want a pre-ride coffee and/or a bagel and/or a natter, get there at 9.30 am Very Happy

Well spotted. I'll change it .......... once I've found out how.

Route now Public. (If you want to know how to change from Private to Public and vice-versa, go to your My Routes, click on the Edit button, then the Save Route button, then near the bottom of the next 'screen' you can then change the "Who can see it" setting).

" The difference between the two routes is 8 miles more on the extended route so this means that those taking the extended route will arrive at Hill about half an hour after those that take the gentle route (provided everyone leaves Costa at the same time). "

Doesn't that assume that both groups are travelling @ (approx) 16 mph average?

It does indeed. The "about half an hour" was only intended as a rough indication of when those on the extended route would turn up but with Scott riding his folder the extended routers might only be 15 mins behind !

I refer you to my sock-less colleague's earlier assumption that departures were simultaneous...........
