Well I have had a few requests some to be honest are impossible some are fun but very messy but the other one was "When are we doing Frocester ?" and "When are we going up Lampern?"
Well the answer to that is HA HA next Sunday.
I am working on the fine details but roughly up Frocester down Uley(It's been resurfaced) up Lampern and down Wotton.
What more could you ask for!

Route to follow Baguette at the Wotton pub

Then quick change of bikes at the end to the road bike then another change to the time trial bike for the homeward sprint? Mind you with the gearing on the MTB you might be better sticking with it.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than someone organising and leading a flat ride every other Sunday as I do get applicants who would like to come out but are unsure of themselves to start with.
We have well over 120 members and it is very difficult to cater for all I am REALLY sorry that I cannot be in two places at once.I do my best .We have the cake ride once a month which is for the ones that want a flat short gentle route.
Martin you are very vocal regarding these rides you have a Garmin why dont you step up and organise a flat route in between the cake rides.I have even done a route for you in Alternative Sunday rides.

It's good to "spice things up" a little every now and then and I am looking forward to tackling these two infamous hills again on sunday (note to self: write this down and tape to handlebars). The Trench Lane section is the fly in the ointment as I fear for losing my fillings everytime we ride this bit of "highway". Scott, dare I suggest we take the Bradley Stoke Way road out of Tesco to the Winterbourne Road, then turn left onto the Old Gloucester Road, rejoining the original route at the bottom of Trench Lane ?

Yeah I like the variety of routes we do to. Being not far off 15st I'm a very long way from being a mountain goat but hills can still be enjoyable (admittedly some of my enjoyment comes from knowing if I'm in a lot of pain Scott will likely be suffering even more :p ). This route isn't exactly hilly either, it's flat with a couple of long climbs in the middle. Doesn't anyone else get satisfaction from leaving their comfort zone and testing themselves once in a while?

As for this ride - hopefully I'll be there (and probably complaining about the hills :p ).

If everything was easy it would be boring, bring on the hills.

@scott - assuming you're driving over did you want to pick up any more club bottles before (or after the ride)?

"Getting the hump over Hills or why we ride em"
I think it's because are beloved leader has never felt what it's like to be vertically challenged...... If I wanted pan flat rides every day I'd buy some clogs and live in a windmill............. If you want to lose that fat hill are where it's at! I can say this as I was over 15 stonewhen I started riding to shift it! At the end of the day this club is what it is, it does what it does and makes no secret or apologies for either. Once you know the score if you don't like it jog on, it really is that simple isn't it?...........judging by the size of the membership it works for the majority!

To be fair I havent looked at the elevation but I expect you climbed more hills last Sunday than you will this Sunday. There are two hills one of which can be avoided with out much trouble!

Try riding over there ... it's windy most days and there's naff all shelter and 30mph headwinds are a touch less
