Hills are there to be ridden up and to be swooped down, because what goes up gotta go down. I am 70 and perhaps should not be riding a bike at that age. 'Cause hills are hard and I do get worried when my heart rate is 170+, but they are a yardstick (or is that metrestick) to measure your progress against. Or alternatively, I sometimes do get the map out and plan an easier route to get to the ride destination, or meet up during a ride cutting out the harder bits. This Sunday I hope to get out, but will only climb Frocester, then make my own way to W under E.affraid

Hmm. Looking for a gentle ride to stretch my legs before starting my Edinburgh to London trip on Wednesday; this seems just the ticket! See you all tomorrow.

In reality, when it comes to hills we don't climb in a big group as everyone climbs at different speeds and so we soon get well spread out, allowing motorists to "pick us off" one or two at a time.

You'd be better off diverting around Frocester and climbing Lampern. A big group of cyclists slowly huffing their way up Frocester is gonna P1$$ off a lot of motorists!.
And Frocester doesn't get traffic on a Sunday does it ???

Why do people have to post in the negative if you dont think you can make the ride PLEASE do NOT post.
Anyone reading this thread would think we have never climbed a hill before. 90% of people dont even know where we are going before we leave.
Some of the routes I post up I dont like but I try to mix it up a bit so sorry if you dont like this weeks just stay away or go on Clifton9's ride. Please do not entice the wrath of others by posting in the negative.
Or you could step forward and plot a route and save me the heart ache and aggro.
