PostSubject: Sunday 20th March - Luckington loop   Tue Mar 15, 2011 8:07 pm

Ok I thought I better put something into the calender for next Sunday.

Since I'm still not 100% sure if I will be coming out Steve(Whippet) has said he will lead if I'm not there.

So here it is one of Steve's old routes that we've done back in September

9am Tesco Bradley Stoke (BS32 8EF)

I'm happy to lead, only thing i can't remember how to down load the route as a gpx file from map my ride so i can load it on to my garmin, but i know the roads round there well so it shouldn't be a problem.

Can you double check the route first. I might redraw it on bikely since I hate mapmyride with the stupid small map screen. Smile

Not sure if you mean for me or Scott to check the route; if it's me, in what context does it need checking.

The only real bit if I was to be really picky is by the golf club at Kendleshire.that turning left onto the westerliegh raod then right towards pucklechurch can be a bit dodgy .You can turn left just before the main road and go down The Hollows and then right at the end and its a straight over the main road then. but its not a problem we have down those turns before.
The rest is very nice.Didn't we go a bit awry last time?

You're right there Scott - I cycle the Westerleigh Road most days to-from work and the traffic can be very fast and doesn't like giving you room (especially the Sainsbury trucks racing back to their depot a bit further down the road)!!!
Turn left onto Ruffet Road (just after crossing the Badminton Road). This skirts the golf course (golf course would be on your right) then it's a right onto Henfield Road at the end. All you do is follow Henfield Road all the way to the crossroads.
Cross straight over the crossroads towards the new golf range before the climb towards Pucklechurch.
Simples! Smile

@Dangermouse
Any chance we will graced with your company this week?
You are either well out of practice or you have been quietly practising and are gong to leave us all standing...

For those coming from the Kingswood side of Bristol I suggest you check out the route as we are coming your way so maybe you will want to join us 'en route'.

What we really did
http://connect.garmin.com/player/74108030
Steve I will try and convert to a gpx file for you and e mail it to you or put on map my ride in the nbcc group.

http://classic.mapmyride.com/community/groups/417129944247388625
This is us on map my ride
If you go into this link you can if you wish ,join but all or most of our routes are there. In future I will try and name them and do the same in Garmin connect so if anyone wants to find an old route it should be a bit easier.

Sorry Steve it won't convert correctly I will redraw what we did so we can save it in mapmyride or similar The gpx converter turns it into a MEGA file for some reason and mmr can't open it as its so big.I have done this before ok so I might try again later.
