Might be last chance to sample the Old Station at Tintern so try to get along.
Nice easy route next week Evil or Very Mad

Don't get to carried away with the milage as I have finished the route the other side of the bridge so you might have to add a few miles to the total.
As per usual when we go abroad some join in at the roundabout by the bridge parking at Passage road.
So dont forget your passports and see you next week!

Hi all, I'm Sam, I joined a lot of you for the marshfield ride 2 weeks ago which I really enjoyed being a part of. I unfortunately couldn't join you on Sunday the 19th as I was taking part in the exmoor beast! 10,000ft of climbing over 100 miles, not something you want to do too often! I'm living in the mangotsfield area and cycle regularly about 3 times a week covering about 20-30 miles on each ride. Hopefully see many of you on the 26th for my second club ride. Very Happy

Don't forget the clocks change Sunday morning (you'll have a lot more pre-ride coffee drinking time if you do!)

That's ok, like many studies have already shown, this time research by a Spanish lab has again confirmed that drinking coffee makes you cycle faster for longer - Coffee

Yes definitely up for that. Would be well worth plotting a route around the lanes from miles 12.5 to 14.5 as they are very rough, gravel strewn and mucky at the best of times. After the wind and rain of this week they'll be very mucky indeed and certainly not rideable at any pace.

PostSubject: Fast route vs "normal" pace   Sat Oct 25, 2014 4:08 pm

Hi there,
Hoping to join you tomorrow, assume its 10 am at Costa.
I see a few are talking about doing it at a faster pace, will there still be a spot at the back to do it at more of the usual pace?
If this is planning to be a speedy one, no worries, will join you another time

Cheers

Claire

Claire
I wouldnt worry the words Speedy and Me dont go together so yes I will be at the back as usual.

Martin,
Made a note of your observations cant be arssed to alter route so wil just re route when we get to main road .It's no great problem just along the main road for a while and then pick up route.

Hi Claire if a faster group does materialize it will be in addition to the main group riding at the usual pace, not instead of it .

So turn left on to the A48 (and not right then left on to the lane) and stay on it till we go under the M48 (twice) then first right (after the archery centre), looks like that picks the route back up

Or http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6349800  Main road for 3 miles road but wide enough for small group (+cars) and nice downhill and fast flat following flat from mile marker 1.

Hi all,
Will meet you at the roundabout at your 7 miles mark - (parking at Passage road as Big Sen suggests) if that'll work?

If I get there at 10:30 - will that work?

Claire
