Hi,
I'm a bit new to your club and haven't done a really wintry ride yet. How long and tough is tomorrow? Thanks

There's a chance I might be able to join you. Do you have a route in mind ?

Gary, I was planning on following Pete so I have no idea on the route.

Kat, I normally do between 50-60 miles but I'm not sure what the pace will be, I'll leave that to Pete and Gary to decide.

Tomorrow's weather forecast (sunny spells, no rain, 8°c) looks pretty decent ! I'm not sure if I can make this ride but I'd expect it to be around 45 miles long (measured from Bradley Stoke) and around 4 hours long including lunch break). How tough? Well it depends on your level of fitness but bear in mind there will be a lot of hills to climb so I'd say "quite" tough. Dont worry if you go along and find yourself struggling as you won't be left behind.

I don't mind hills, though I am generally a bit slower up them than most, but The last ride I did got very cold and I think I need to do some more local ones to build up some courage before going further afield. I might try to find something less intimidating and join you another day. Thanks anyway, have a good ride!

I usually take this route, about 55 miles, start/finish Bradley Stoke
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6655306
Probably easy-moderate pace average c16 - 16.5 mph.
There's about 3,500 ft of climbing, which can feel tough: Kat you may be right to give this one a miss this time till you feel more certain of your capability, look forward to meeting you on a Sunday club ride maybe.
Gary - would be good to see you for this if you can make it.

Kat,
I see that you havent been out since early October! Unfortunatly you have missed a number of the slightly shorter easier rides that we do ie the Cake rides and the soup rides. These would of been ideal for you to gain some miles .

Your best bet is to try and make it along to the Sunday rides there you will find that however slow you are you will still be quicker than me.
Most of the Saturday rides are a tiny bit harder and faster than the Sunday rides as they dont have to put up with me! That being said if the others know you are going along they will ALWAYS look after any rider and NEVER leave them.

You just need to pick a Saturday ride when I'm going... I'm the one at the back! Particularly on hills.
