If no-one else wants to take the lead for the easy ride then I'll run this version. Anyone up for riding "tail end charlie" for me ?

Hello lovely peeps

I've been away from the club (and cycling on the road bike) for yonks due to starting up a new business and working like a dog.

So is this Sunday the Hill cake thing? If it is, I'll meet you all at the hall - what's the ETA? I haven't clipped-in for about a year so will be slower than a slow thing but will do my best to keep up on the way back. I commute on an old MTB tho' so have some cycle fitness.

Chrissie

Aiming to be at the village hall around 12pm. The ride out to the hall isn't going to be fast!

I think we will need to include the cake loop and the bit around the bottom of thornbury,or we'll be there before 11.30 Ken.
We need to make sure the turn into moor lane isn't missed like last Sunday.

I have altered the route slightly to take in cow hill and extended it to 24 miles to the "cake". 37.5 miles total.
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7430927

Let me explain this clearly as I possibly can!

I'm leading the easy/beginners ride at 24 miles to cake (12mph). The official cake ride is meant to be EASY as you never know who will turn up, what their ability is and we are trying to encourage new people!

Gary's alternative (faster) ride is 29 miles to cake (14.5mph).

The choice is yours as to which one you ride.

Hi Ken, I'm not around on Sunday but I have had a few new people contact me on Facebook this week looking for a relatively easy first group ride.

Newbies very welcome and will be well looked after, the ride will definitely be easy.

The world is passing me by and I didn't notice, have no idea what "grinder" and "tinder" are, I probably don't want to know either!

I was using grinder today, 4.5 inch Bosch (the 9 inch was to big) for cutting out mortar joints, thought I'd google grinder when I got home.......wish I hadn't now!
