Any idea of your average speed currently and what sort of distance you're doing? I can't make the ride but Scott and John always make sure no one gets left behind. Probably the main factor for you might be the distance rather than the speed but if you're used to rides around 30 miles you should be fine...

A quick glance around at the start and you'll soon realise we're not all really fit and fast :p

I'd say though unless you're only doing 10 mile rides at walking pace at the moment (and are completely knackered after) then give it a shot, I think everyone is nervous when going out on a ride with a new club/group the first time in case they're really slow in comparison but the NBCC rides are much more biased towards the social than training aspect so worst case even if the ride does need to go slower than usual for you to keep up no ones going to be upset.

Hi Susie

I've been signed up for about 4 weeks now and I had been scared about the same thing, but 5 rides in I'm really glad I joined I've been doing the 10am start from Bradley Stoke tesco and we have different levels of riders but nobody gets left behind and everyone is made to feel welcome. You will see that there's 2 Sunday rides happening at the moment a 9am and 10am start leaving from tesco depending on what time you want to be back. Although I have not been on a 9am run yet I think those lads usely do a straight loop without stopping (but someone may correct me on that??) and the 10am always involves a cake stop and about is about 40miles on average.

Hope this helps and that we see you Sunday

Andy

Great,
Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Have a look in you 'you have a message box' along the top of the forum page I have sent you contact details.
Vicky and her 'other half Alex should be there and I think Shona is going to try and make it as well so you won't be alone.
PS don't forget coffee money ,oh and money for the bridge toll across the Severn and money for bribes for the Welsh border guards.Surprised)

Yes there was some remarks about the cc standing for either cake club or coffee club. But that was just a completely nasty (but true)remark.
