Sad but true, this weeks ride is the last cake ride of the year.

This is our 40 mile easy ride, ideal for new riders to see what we are all about and for regulars to live up the the club motto and eat lots of cake.

Here is the route http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7430927

Will be getting back in the saddle after a couple of weeks off. Flu, then a trip to Spain... Stuffed with cerveza and tapas now, time to get back in shape, ready to put it back all on over Christmas! See everyone on Sunday

PostSubject: In Bristol again!   Thu Oct 29, 2015 9:50 pm

Hi, friends, David from San Francisco here.

A few of you might remember me from when I was in Bristol for work in March. Well, I'm here again and have arranged for a rental bike for this weekend and hope to be able to join you Sunday to see how the cakes are on this side of the Atlantic!

Two questions:

1. Is anyone riding up from Bristol that might be able to help me navigate the way to Costa? I got so lost the last time I tried to find it and it would be a big help.

2. I see the weather forecast is for a beautiful day like the last time I was here. Doesn't it ever rain in this country?

Very Happy

Thanks, Scott. I'm staying near Queen Square in Bristol and could meet someone somewhere, as long as that somewhere is relatively easy to find.

And great to hear you'll be riding Sunday!

John, sorry I misunderstood. So, corner of Gloucester Road and Kellaway around 9:15, then? (unless someone is coming from Bristol closer to the center of town).

I'll leave around 8:45 and try not to get lost :-)

Thanks!

I'm going to leave the normal road bike at home for this one and give the winter/cross bike a run out I think. I've not done any distance in it yet and it's steel framed and fairly fat tyres so I think I may be a few mph off my normal pace.

I could do with a few extra miles and will be happy to ride with you up from town to meet up with John at the end of Kellaway. I'll see you outside the Hippodrome 8.30 - 8.45 am.

Thanks, John! See you at the Hippodrome around 8:40 or so.

I'll be on a black and red aluminum Orbea Avant, wearing a dark blue jersey.

Have we any Ladies out tomorrow. We have a new young lady hopefully coming out (Kate) and it would be nice for her to have a fellow lady to ride with.
