As mentioned in the 'Forthcoming Events' section, the 2016 Gospel Pass Ride is not far away (12th March). So far we've got two 'confirmed' and two 'checking their diaries'.

With the Gospel Pass being Wales' highest road you can look forward to some spectacular scenery. Check out this 'Roads To Ride' feature and the photos.

You've got the route, could just do following week when the roads will be even quieter!

Gary, I might drive down to the bridge and cycle across. I dont think I can handle cycling there and back aswell as the audax.

O just remembered its England vs Wales six nations 4pm on Saturday. So the roads may be clear!

I badly want to join you for this! I'm supposed to be playing a gig the night before, which would mean only 4 or 5 hours sleep though. Seriously considering re-arranging my gig to make this ride... scratch

Pat, we're meeting in the car park on Bridge Street near Chepstow Castle. We plan on setting off at 8 am.

Would be great to have you come along. the forecast, according to the BBC, is "Mostly dry, but generally cloudy, with some bright or sunny spells at times throughout the period. It will generally feel milder than of late, with light winds. 6C at 9 am, 10C at 3 pm".

Some figures for you (figures are approximates): from Chepstow to the start of the climb to the Pass is 52 miles with 3,800 ft / 1,160 m of ascending over the 52 miles. The climb is 5 miles long and ascends 1,500 ft / 460 m, average gradient is 5.7%, max gradient 12.7%. By the time you get back to Chepstow you will have done 100 miles (probably).

Let me know if you decide to come so we can look out for you.

Hey Gary, much as I'd love to, I think it's going to be just a bit too early as I can't get anyone to cover my gig on Friday night. So I think I'm going to join Alain for the spin down to Cheddar. Have a great ride though everyone, hopefully there will be another opportunity to do this in the Summer cheers
