Ok folks, so we're heading out to Clevedon this coming Sunday, stopping at Scarletts on the seafront (thanks JimmyB and Scanavan for helping with the route). A pretty gentle 46 miles with no mega climbs. Come out and stretch your legs!

Looking forward to it although I think I'll stick to the left hand side of the roads passing Aldi when we get home. Too many Damn Yanks in this club.

Just a reminder that if any of you find the man club rides a bit to fast/far dont forget my alternative ride. We are doing about 30=35 miles at a nice easy pace.
We do ask that if you do partake of the main club ride that you are up to doing the distance at a reasonable pace otherwise the ride gets stretched out to very late in the afternoon.
Please keep this in mind  when picking your ride on a Sunday.

Good point Scott. I'd expect this ride to be around 14-16mph, but of course no-one will be left behind. This ride is a little shorter than some of the recent main club rides, so we shouldn't be done too late this time.

I tested the Clevedon route today, and am going to reverse it because the route back from the cafe was a right drag to ride. Straight into some climbs after the cafe stop, not ideal. Updated route will be posted shortly.

OK boys n girls - as per the above post, I've reversed the route. I tested the original route today and the return leg wasn't ideal.

Although doing it this way around means the return leg is very slightly longer than the way out, it should work much better. After the cafe stop we have lots of flat to get our legs spinning before we hit the uphills. Of course, doing it this way does mean that we have to go up Belmont Hill, but I know you folks love a nice climb... don't you?! Razz

Looking forward to leading my first ride, although I didn't make it easy for myself by going South!

Ta John! I have loads of routes on the Saaaaaf-side, it's just a bit tricky getting there from Bradley Stoke - always involves some element of riding through traffic.

Looks like a great route! In fact the first route I had planned for Sunday was very similar, but I thought it might be a bit too long. Maybe when the days are a little longer Smile
