OCTOBER THE 2ND.
This is the last WI cake run of the year before the ladies hibernate to make chutney and jam and Christmas cakes and no doubt to get the sprouts on so they are nicely cooked at Xmas.
There is the Tasty Cheddar on the Sat so as per the other cake rides it will be a late start and a gentle ride so if you want to bring your wife/girlfriend (or both) they will be welcome.

I'll be there for the last cake run. Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out of the tast cheddar on the Saturday as I'm going to be in Newcastle.

Only six days to go time to get some training in.
Right so off to Greggs in the morning to check out the cake.
Mind you we got some practice in today @Stroud.

Oi! I resemble that remark!
Bacon sarnies and an endless pot of tea goes down well as well

Well this ride sounds like something I can manage for my first NBCC ride. Where will it start from and roughly how long does it last? (Or if you give me expected milage and cake consumption volumes I could do the rough maths)

As a number of people who might be inclined to do the Pavlova ride are doing the Tasty Cheddar Audax the day before, I expect this Sunday's Pavlova ride will get going at about 11.30am from outside the Subway next to the big Tesco Extra in Bradley Stoke BS32 8EF. We aim to arrive at the village hall at around 2pm so if the pace is a leisurely one, we'll have done about 30 miles up to this point. Once everyone has had their fill of victoria sponge and coffee and walnut cake it's about 15 miles or an hour back to where we started from. Keep an eye on the Forum for further ride updates.

I'm really annoyed that I can't come on this ride, not that I'll be doing anything, just 'on call' for work, which makes it worse!

Scott jnr and I will be there for the final Pavlova (I actually had a portion of said meringue based dessert last time and it was exceedingly good). Does anyone have a route in mind or are we just going to wing it ? Presumably we'll start from BS Tesco Extra but is that from 11 or 11.30am ? I'm happy with either. It's likely to be a sunny day so I must remember to slap on a bit of sun protection on my exposed parts as on the last Pavlova, which was also on a sunny day, I got sunburnt arms, legs and the top of my head (for the thatch thereon is sparse at best).

Route looks good to me, I guess if we're ahead of schedule and everyone's feeling fit we can detour from Lower Stone to Falfield then back up to Rockhampton? Would add 3 or 4 miles (although not sure what those roads are like). Then again the way my legs feel now I might struggle with an 11mph average in order to get there at 2pm on your route :p

Well I dragged Nick round.(well in my dreams)
First half quite flatish. From Cheddar onwards all up hill
I have a mind to do the sameish route minus the NASTY HILL at hinton Blewitt as a club run in a couple of weeks.
To be honest I really enjoyed it the weather was really beautiful and that makes such a difference.

Yeah not sure that steep hill would be possible anyway in the wet, my back wheel slipped a couple of times in the dry today.
