The alternatives are off to Wales next week .Who is going to pick up the baton for the main ride?
We are stopping to eat a Caldicot.

Not bad but this is better:

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16699009

For a Sunday Club Ride the "Long way round to Caldicot" route is indeed long at 60 miles and with 4,200 ft of climbing it would be a long day in the saddle me thinks, so I've trimmed off the Llandogo to Trelleck stage. I've taken the route from Tintern up through the forest alongside the stream, up to Cobblers Plain then down to Wolvesnewton, up to Llangwm, then a 2 mile climb up the B4235, a 1 mile descent followed by another 2 mile climb to the highest point on the route in the Wentwood Forest, then a 3.5 mile descent past the Wentwood Reservoir and through Llanvair-Discoed, after which things settle down a bit.

Just over 52 miles long with just under 3,900 ft of climbing.

With 'only' 38 miles before we reach Caldicot, I reckon that we should get there at about the same time as the short ride guys 'n' gals.

And in case of any doubt, I will be your Ride Leader.

Good route Gary. That descent is too much fun!
