I'm in, I guessing there will not be a cake stop this week.
See you on Sunday.

Looking into the stop thing as there is not a lot out that way except for a pub in Hawksbury. Anyone know what it's like, can we get coffee there?

I think all pubs do coffee nowadays. Finding some homemade cake could be more of a problem I reckon.

PostSubject: CLOCKS GO BACK THIS WEEKEND   Fri Oct 28, 2011 8:41 pm

Just in case anyone wasn't aware, summer officially ends this weekend, at 2am Sunday morning to be precise, so remember to put your clocks, watches, central heating controllers etc BACK by an hour before you go beddybyes. Mornings will be lighter but evenings will get darker earlier.
Weather forecast for Sunday is cloudy but bright, generally dry but they do say there could be some rain or drizzle at times, just to cover themselves. A little breezy but very mild, temperature getting up to 18c from the previous night's 13c, so no need for the thermal longjohns or the wife's/partner's tights.

Was hoping to meet en route, but need to be home by 12.00. Had a ride today through St Catherine Scott, turned back at A46, much easier on return leg.

Will ring if I will be nearby. Friday went well. The surprise entrance was a trailer being pulled by a scale model Sentinel steam lorry. Have posted a new Old Guys Rule topic.

A most enjoyable ride. Big thanks to Scott (snr) and Steve for keeping us on track with their intimate knowledge of the lanes and Garmin gps gizmos. It was tricky arranging for the overturned car, ambulance and police to all turn up, you don't get that every week ! The recovery lorry was a bonus.

Last time I ride a mountain bike and 3 trillon layers! The confounded thing kept reverting to type and leading off of the tarmac onto the mucky stuff!!!

There is a saying which goes something like "the older I get, the faster I was". Often used by ex motocross riders it seems to be creeping into the road biking fraternity.

Or in mtb riding you just go down a group .... and become the lantern rouge :-)
Although where I go from cheesy ride tail end is a bit of a concern !!!
