| I and a few others will be in the Brecon Beacons this Sunday doing a ride that I mentioned a few weeks ago under "forthcoming events" so if anyone wants to do a route for the Faster Group, be my guest. Or you could join us on our Brecon Beacon III and you'd be most welcome. It's a shade under 80 miles / 130 km long with 5,800 ft / 1,760 m of climbing and includes The Tumble. It's very similar in these respects and therefore ideal preparation for the Wales Velothon two weeks later on the 9th of July, which is 87 miles / 140 km long with 5,980 ft / 1,822 m of climbing. The route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/21215052The route starts from a little place called Llanover, about 6 miles south of Abergavenny, and we aim to make a start at 9.00 hrs. The first 8.7 miles is on the actual Velothon route and includes The Tumble at mile 4.8 so your legs will be fresh and nicely warmed up. There will definitely be one stop but as it'll be a Sunday our lunch options will be quite limited. |

| The address of the start point is a lane called Tre-Elidyr, Llanover NP7 9HB. Drive along Tre-Elidyr until you come across a stoney car-parking area big enough for about 10 cars.
Remember it's a 09.00 am start.

I'd like to do this ride, but am without transport this weekend. Would be very grateful anyone could offer a lift over to the start. I have a 3 bike clip on bike rack if that was necessary. |
