PostSubject: Saturday 28th ride   Thu Apr 26, 2012 11:37 pm

As weather forecast does not look to promising for Sunday, and I am working.
I am aware few people want to come out Saturday, what would be the best time to start and possible directions. (my preference is AM 8.30-9.00)

I'm still clueless about routes, so reliant on someone to lead

Mark (Waggoner) and me (and possibly Scott junior) are doing the Slimbridge ride that some of the guys who didnt go to Bournemouth did last Sunday. This is the
route.
We are starting at 1 pm Saturday afternoon as Mark will be getting his sleep Saturday morning. We had planned to meet at Aldi car park in Bradley Stoke (BS32 9DA). Hope you (and anyone else) can join us even though the timing isn't ideal for you.

I should be there, however if it's heavy rain then don't wait for me!

I should be able to make it, just need to reschuffle my day a little bit.
Unless is hammering it down I will not participate, otherwise I'm up for it 1 pm at Aldi Smile

That was good. Yes hard at times riding into the wind, but good. Thanks all.

Think Merlin will have a gps readout??? But my little antique computer says...51.8 miles, average 15.5 mph, 3 hours 20mins ride time.

Wind in the flippen Willows.
I felt like a shopping bag blowing around in the wind!

Yea good solid ride and the pace wasn't slow. The best bit for me was my knee felt great.
Cheers all

Went out for a nice little 40 miler.Halfway through left sti lever broke inside so had to remove front dérailleur and put in middle ring and from then on all the last 20 miles in the middle ring. Why is it always the bloody left hand lever that goes.
looks like they have updated the spec now with the cable exits along the bars so more aerodynamic!Like me!

Thanks to everyone on todays little Slimbridge jaunt. Good job we went clockwise so we ended up with the wind behind us. 15 mph average speed will do for me. And like Phil my dodgy knee held up today aswell, big relief. Didn't know red wine was a recovery drink, is must be the anaesthetic effect you get after downing a bottle of the stuff!
